Building Resilience by Honoring Families’ Inherent Strengths

June 10th, 9am to 1pm

Join Dr. Stoeber as we take a deep dive into understanding traumatic events for children and how to help children and families heal. We’ll discuss Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on the next level – specific to certain populations you work with; and then, we’ll review the research that supports resilience as the primary intervention. Prevention and guidance are key! Finally, we’ll wrap up by delving into specific efficacious interventions that promote healing and thriving families – you’ll have plenty of time to practice these skills so that you can take away practical tools!

**Pre-work includes viewing 1 hour pre-recorded video and reflection assignment

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will learn about ACEs for specific populations (including but not limited to children in foster care, children of incarcerated parents, LGBTQ+, and children who have suffered emotional abuse or addiction). Covered in the pre-work recording.

  2. Participants will learn compassion-informed care work to create champions in their organizations.

  3. Participants will become familiar with resilience education and research as a mitigating factor for childhood adversities.

  4. Participants will learn efficacious resilience interventions to use with the children and families with whom they work.

Register below by June 2nd!

Pre-work assignment and zoom call information will be emailed to all registrants on June 3rd.
